Humbling.

Deuteronomy:8-2.

And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to
humble you and test you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments
or not.

Sharing of the word:

The Bible tells us for forty years God led the Israelites in the desert. For forty years they were in the
wilderness and He tried them and tested them to see whether they would obey His commandments.
Now the journey was supposed to take only forty days. But because they disobeyed God, it took
them forty years. The point is, God will not change but He waits for you to change.
Here the Lord is saying, while you were in the desert, while you were exposed to extreme heat in the
morning and extreme cold in the night, He says, "I was with you. I sent a cloud like an umbrella
to cover you while you were under the beat".
The night was very cold and He raised a pillar of fire. For forty years, the people saw it and they took
it all for granted just like how we take many things for granted. God blessed the Israelites, yet they
took His factor for granted.
Duet:8-3. So He humbled you allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you
did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live
by bread alone, but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.
